About
The Power to Grow Exist Within “Me”.

Every child has the strength to shape their own life.

Through encounters with new cultures and the world of nature,
their own senses, curiosity, and feelings begin to shine.
Rita School walks beside them on this journey.

In a world full of choices,
we hope children learn to listen to their hearts and think for themselves—
so they can discover what brings them joy and choose how they wish to live.

When a child learns to truly love themselves, a spirit of empathy—a heart that cares for others—naturally blossoms.

When we embrace one another,
each child’s unique personality flourishes even more.
Through education, we hope to nurture a world where everyone can bloom in their own way.

Philosophy
The Three Pillars of Rita School

Above all, Rita School values children’s own curiosity and motivation.
We provide opportunities for children to “try things out and learn through their five senses”—
experiences that are time-consuming and difficult to achieve at home.

Global Communication

We hope that children become adults who can express their thoughts and feelings in their own words anywhere in the world.

Our school aims to help children acquire English proficiency equivalent to that of first graders in English-speaking countries by graduation, through a structured curriculum within an environment where diverse cultures blend together.

Moreover, one of our unique features is that we also offer Japanese language classes. Honoring each child’s natural desire to express themselves, we nurture strong global communication skills.

Food & Wellness

The foundation of health begins with the food we eat every day.

Under the guidance of Mika Kunimitsu, an expert in minerals and organic foods, we provide meals that are gentle on both body and mind, minimizing ingredients such as sugar, wheat, and dairy.

We also have a “children’s kitchen,” designed to fit their height. By getting hands-on with cooking and cleaning from an early age, children learn the importance of food and develop a mindset to try things for themselves.

Nature & Animals

Human beings have always lived alongside nature. At Rita School, our vast woodlands offer the perfect setting for children to think freely—beyond conventional boundaries.

On our grounds live ducks, goats, pigs, and chickens. Children also venture into nature throughout the seasons—digging bamboo shoots, gathering clams and picking grapes.

Through hands-on encounters with living creatures and play that engages all five senses—sometimes getting wonderfully muddy—children learn the value of life and grow strong in both body and spirit.

Message

MESSAGEWe create an environment centered around three pillars: nature, language, and food.

Thank you for visiting the Rita School website. I am Yoshihiro Shiozawa, the principal.

Our school aims to build the foundation for children to grow into individuals who can confidently thrive in the international community. We create an environment centered around three pillars: nature, language, and food.

First, our nature education program utilizes the mountain owned by our school. We value hands-on experiences that engage all five senses, allowing children to observe seasonal changes and the cycles of life. Additionally, interacting with the diverse animals we keep on school grounds provides invaluable opportunities to cultivate compassion for living things and a sense of responsibility.

Next, our English education program prioritizes learning that is “early, enjoyable, and natural.” Familiarizing young ears with English sounds nurtures listening skills, making future academic learning remarkably smoother.

Furthermore, food education, which shapes children’s minds and bodies, is a major feature of our school. In addition to mineral-organic lunches made with safe ingredients, child-sized kitchens are also installed in the school buildings. Children learn through the entire process of simple cooking and cleaning up afterward. The act of preparing food themselves and cleaning up afterward is an important learning experience that fosters interest in food and a sense of initiative.

Additionally, the fireplace installed in our building allows for special food experiences using fire, such as roasting sweet potatoes. This creates a uniquely heartwarming time for the children.

Within this learning environment, our entire staff dedicates ourselves wholeheartedly to daily childcare, ensuring children grow freely and authentically, empowering them to stride confidently toward their future. We warmly invite those interested in our preschool to visit for a tour.

MESSAGEMay each child seek their own meaning and joy in life, growing up to become adults whose inner light shines brightly

While Japan today seems overflowing with material goods, convenient and affluent, it remains far from true spiritual richness. Why does it rank so high among developed nations for young people taking their own lives? It is because children have few opportunities from early childhood to truly confront themselves. By nurturing their senses in nature and expressing themselves while discovering their own existence, children build “confidence and love for themselves.” This foundation empowers them to seek out the “meaning and joy of life” for themselves. At Rita School, we deeply value this accumulation of diverse experiences during childhood. I strongly wish for each child to grow into a wonderful adult who values themselves and shares love and respect with those around them.
